The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya is one among the thirty one NITs in India established under the NIT Act 2007 (Amended 2012) of the Parliament of India as Institutes of National Importance with full funding support from the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
About CE
Department of Civil Engineering began its session from July 2012. The Department offers B.Tech, M.Tech in Structural Engineering and PhD programs in all the specializations. The Department is well equipped with laboratories; computational facilities with latest numerical modeling software where our students are exposed to recent technologies Development.
About ME
Department of Mechanical Engineering began its session from July 2013. The Department offers B.Tech, M.Tech in Fluid and Thermal Engineering and PhD programs in all the specializations. The main objectives of the department are to cater the students with class tutorial and in hand practice with state of the art laboratories & mechanical workshop.
Broad Scope
The online Short Term Course (STC) is aimed at creating an effective forum for exchange of innovative ideas and research works in the areas of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Eminent speakers from Academia will be delivering lectures on the following thematic areas of the STC.
Thematic Areas
This STC aims to discuss various fundamental issues and perspectives in application of CFD in various fields of Civil and Mechanical Engineering. The topics would include, but are not limited to: River modeling, Automotive design, Dam break flow, Aerodynamics, River turbulence, Microfluidics, River bed scour analysis, Cancer diagnosis and treatment
